XKCD: you’re a copyright criminal, either way

The always witting and intelligent web comic XKCD makes an excellent point today:

Of course, it’s a false dichotomy for most people; many just don’t think about it this way. For an example of this in the real world consider those that bought Walmart’s DRM music. Their choices are either violate the DMCA (which is still illegal even with Walmart’s blessing and a waste of time and quality) or lose their music.

    Very interesting article and thank you for sharing!

    Nowadays, it seems as if copyright criminals are on the rise, but it’s so prevalent that iTunes (and studios) must work with violators not against them.
